The Chancellor has just delivered his 'Ford Focus' budget. So it's not surprising that it feels like the clock has gone back thirty years in some kind of Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes moment. Thirty years ago we had big cuts in universities, big rises in unemployment, big cuts in public spending, Britain going to war...and big protest marches in London. 23 March 2011
